Rex E. Biggs, CPA has joined Somerset as a senior accountant in our Entrepreneurial Team. Prior to joining Somerset, he gained industry experience as a senior staff accountant for a local CPA firm where his primary focus was in partnership taxation.
Rex is a graduate of Indiana University where he earned a B.S. in Informatics and Certificate in Accounting. He is a member of the Indiana CPA Society.

Theresa Pierce has joined Somerset CPAs as a senior accountant on our Small Business Services Team. Previously Theresa owned a bookkeeping service for several years specializing in QuickBooks and Peachtree accounting systems primarily for service companies. Prior to owning her own company, Theresa gained industry experience as a staff accountant for local accounting firms where her focus was on payroll and sales and property taxes.
She received her associate’s degree from International Business College. Theresa’s involvement with the Nicaragua Resource Network, where she performed bookkeeping services and was a board member, allowed her mission trip opportunities to Nicaragua to build churches, schools and small homes.

Welcome back Elizabeth Curley and Brandon Lucas. They both completed internships with Somerset and have now joined us full time as staff accountants.
Elizabeth graduated from Butler University with a B.S. in accounting. She is a member of the Indiana CPA Society.
Brandon graduated from Ball State University with both B.S. and Masters degrees in accounting. He is a member of the Indiana CPA Society and the Young Alumni Advisory Council at Ball State University.
We are pleased to announced that Chris Hirschfeld has joined Somerset as a manager in our Entrepreneurial Team and Litigation, Valuation & Forensic Team. He is involved in valuations for mergers and acquisitions, buy/sell agreements, employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs), litigation support and estate and gift tax filings.
Chris has spent over 25 years in both personal and corporate finance. His services have included business valuation, business succession planning, mergers and acquisitions and other financial consulting services to small to middle market business owners and management.
Prior to joining Somerset, Chris ran his own practice in Indianapolis that specialized in business appraisal and financial consulting services. He also worked as a Senior Managing Consultant at one of the ten largest U.S. accounting firms, operating out of its Indianapolis office. His focus included business valuations and litigation support.
His career background also includes work as managing director for an Indianapolis-based investment banking firm where he was responsible for all of the firm’s business valuation, investment banking, litigation support and other corporate financial advisory engagements. Chris led assignments involving the sale of businesses, recapitalizations, business valuations for estate and gift tax filings, ESOPs, buy-sell agreements and shareholder disputes and was a member of the firm’s executive committee. Subsequent to completing graduate school, Chris worked for a global pharmaceutical company in their corporate finance division.
He received his B.A. in Government/Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame and his MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. Chris is a member of the American Society of Appraisers and is currently working on his certification as an Accredited Senior Appraiser.
He serves as a board member of the Broad Ripple/Haverford Little League and is a finance committee member for Christ the King Church and School.
